Back in the East
After a 14 hour journey, we arrived back in NY tonight. The suitcase is still fully packed, dropped in the hallway on our way to the kitchen to finally eat something after our travels. We spent an amazing week in CA with our peeps, my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, 1 very special bride and her groom, and a sweet and loving 6 year old boy that I just can't get enough of. We're feeling very grateful for the CA family contingent that we are lucky to call ours. Photos and a recap to come this week.

Take a good look
This is our visual to-do list for this weekend.
One more coat of paint and a coat of poly for the buffet. Please note the new shelves and pegboard on the back wall of the garage. This was one of T's projects last weekend. :)

The wainscoating in our basement has been sanded and is ready for primer.

The days on the lime green bathroom are numbered. Painting commences today!

And lastly, this will be the last photo sans cabinet doors.

Lots to do in the next two days! Post project pictures to come. And in the meantime, I'm going to squeeze in a quick yoga class.

Radio Silence
It's been a hectic few weeks and I didn't realize how far behind I was in blog land. It appears the spring has finally sprung here on the East Coast and we are ready and armed with a list of new projects! I was happy to start this beautiful Sunday morning with a mug of hot coffee and some paint chips to study.

I wish the bright hue of the bathroom came through in this photo, but it is a very bright lime green. We're lived with it for almost two years and have decided that it's time for it to go. This is for next weekend. Assuming we can find a great color to go with our eggplant accents.

This is the backsplash for the kitchen that we've decided against. The consensus is that we're going to forgo the backsplash completely for the moment. I've picked up a pile of different samples and we just can't decide.
